New radio show on Merced topics to begin airing on KYOS

A radio program being produced by the Merced County Office of Education and the City of Merced will begin airing this weekend.

"Community Connections," an hour-long show focusing on education and government news, and will air on KYOS 1480 AM at 7 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Guests on the first show include Merced County Supervisor John Pedrozo talking about the state's high speed rail project and Merced Mayor Bill Spriggs talking about the decrease in the city's sewer rates. Other guests will include speakers from UC Merced, Merced College, the Merced County Historical Society, the Atwater Historical Society andhte Merced Redevelopment Agency.

The show is hosted by Nathan Quevedo, public information officer for the Merced County Office of Education.
