The United Way of Merced County said Boy Scout Troop 88 has volunteered to help it conduct its Flex Your Power outreach program to encourage more people to conserve energy.
The Scouts will talk to neighbors and people in public places asking them to sign a pledge to conserve energy.
United Way of Merced County is one of eight community-based organizations selected to participate in a statewide outreach campaign to educate the public about ways to conserve energy, reduce utility bills and protect the environment.
