No Homeowner Left Behind of Merced County, a nonprofit that helps local residents avoid foreclosures, will host a foreclosure avoidance workshop Friday, the group announced Tuesday night.
Several big banks will send representatives to Merced so distressed homeowners can work directly with their lender toward mortgage modification agreements. Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo and Fannie Mae will all attend (these lenders also service loans from Countrywide, Wachovia and Washington Mutual).
The event will run from noon to 7 p.m. at the Atwater Community Center, 760 E. Bellevue Road. Distressed homeowners should bring the following documents with them: tax returns, W-2 forms, pay stubs, bank statements, monthly household expenses and recent mortgage statements.
