Five masked men broke into a Delhi house early Monday morning, demanding cash from the residents, the Merced County Sheriff's Department reported.
The armed men, who spoke Spanish, kicked in the door in the 14000 block of South Avenue in Delhi. They demanded cash from a woman and male teen, said Deputy Tom MacKenzie.
Two of the men stayed outside as lookouts while the other three searched the house, stealing a small amount of cash and jewelry.
The suspects left on foot after the robbery. The attack is still under investigation, but deputies reported finding several fighting roosters behind the residence.
The sheriff is asking anyone with information to call (209) 385-7444. Calls are kept confidential, and you can remain anonymous.
