The city of Merced announced the entertainment lineup for Friday evening's Cap&Town '10 festival.
Cap&Town '10 will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. in downtown Merced and will celebrate all the academic achievements for the area's graduates ranging from the preschoolers to the PhDs, the city said in a news release.
There will be three stages with music, performances and demonstrations. The tentative lineup has been announced, but more bands and groups are still booking stage time.
The Merced Theatre Live Stage: Minor Infraction (family rock); Neon Watson and the Fluorescents (blues and rock); Gidget and the Moondoggies (surf rock); Washed Up (reggae); Johnson Long (cover rock) and Juke Joint Jokers (blues).
The Budweiser Stage/D-Life Stage showcases music for a younger audience: El Olio Wolof; Rademacher; Mezcal and Deriva.
Bob Hart Live Performance Area: Step It Up Dance Group; South Pacific Dance Company; East Wind Martial Arts Studio Demonstration and Ballet Folklorico De UC Merced.
For younger audiences there will be a petting zoo, bounce houses, face painting and games. There will be ongoing rodeo roping demonstrations with audience participation. Fresh produce vendors and a wide variety of foods will be available for purchase.
The Cap&Town '10 festival will take place on Main Street from M Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Way and on Canal Street between Main and 18th streets.
There is plenty of free parking around the site.
