Ducks Unlimited receives $567,000 for Merced County conservation projects

Funding received by Ducks Unlimited will help pay for more wildlife conservation projects in Merced County.

The national nonprofit received $9.2 million from the Wildlife Conservation Board, which includes $250,000 for water pumps to improve 2,414 acres of wetlands on the Los Banos Wildlife Area, and $317,000 to restore riparian habitat and replace water pumps in Merced County.

The grant also includes money for restoration of wetlands at San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Napa-Sonoma Marshes Wildlife Area, Moss Landing Wildlife Area and the Sutter Bypass.
