SummerFest, the weekly farmers market and street fair held in downtown Merced, is being organized this year by The D Magazine.
Held each Thursday from June 24 through Sept. 2, SummerFest will feature live music, local produce, artists and handmade crafts. The City of Merced debuted SummerFest last year to replace the old farmers' market. The city turned over operations this year to Tom Price, publisher of The D Magazine, who also organized last month's Cap & Town graduation event.
The D Magazine, which launched its first issue in 2009, focuses on Downtown Merced. The board of directors for SummerFest include Joey Essig, RC Essig, Robert Garcia, Kevin Hammon, Scott Jason, Janna Rodriguez, Toni Fiorenza and Staci Santa.
Interested vendors and volunteers for SummerFest should call (209) 777-6176.
