Merced Regional Airport and Great Lakes Airlines said they have picked their first winner for a trip to Las Vegas.
Paul Garza of Merced won two round-trip tickets on Great Lakes Airlines from Merced to McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. In addition, Garza received a certificate for dinner and an overnight stay there.
Garza was announced as the winner at the Merced Chamber of Commerce Business Connector held at the airport, according to a news release. His name was drawn from more than 500 online entries received on the airport’s website for the Las Vegas getaway.
Another drawing will be held at the end of the contest period. All previous entrants are still in the running to win! You can enter by visiting www.flymercedairport.com. All entries must be received by midnight on July 30. The prize includes round-trip airfare for two on Great Lakes Airlines from Merced to Las Vegas, plus an overnight stay and dinner in Las Vegas.
The Merced Regional Airport now offers two flights a day to McCarran International Airport. Ron Elliott, airport superintendent, said in the news release that the flights have been popular since they began April 7.
