Two people were arrested after a Merced police officer saw them allegedly spray-painting an alleyway fence with gang graffiti.
The officer saw three people disappear into an alleyway near the 1200 block of W. 1st Street around 4:30 a.m. Monday. When they saw the officer, they fled. Two of the suspects, Vincent Munoz, 19, and an unidentified 17-year-old male, were caught, but the third suspect got away, police said.
Munoz, who is a documented gang member, was arrested and booked into Merced County Jail on charges of vandalism, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and gang enhancements. The teen was arrested and turned over to the custody of his parents.
