Merced College said it moved and expanded its Veterans Resource Center because of an increase in the number of U.S. Armed Forces veterans seeking higher education opportunities.
The center, which is now housed in the Student Union Building, is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.
The center has an on-site Veterans Certifying Official to assist veterans with their needs. Many services and programs are available to veterans, including access to a resource library, counseling, computer assistance and technology for individuals with special needs, the college said in a news release.
Veterans also have opportunities to network with their peers and to visit with representatives from veterans' organizations.
