Merced College to conduct 'biggest loser' weight-loss contest classes Oct. 9-Dec. 4

Merced College said it was sponsoring a “Biggest Loser” weight-loss contest, based on the popular TV show.

Students will compete with one another to lose pounds and inches, based on body fat percentage. The ultimate “biggest loser” will win a cash prize.

Each class will focus on developing healthy lifestyle changes, including help setting up healthy menus, exercise plans, as well as proven weight loss techniques. Students will also participate in a rigorous workout, so come dressed appropriately. Only weight loss percentages will be revealed.

The classes will be held Saturdays, Oct. 9 – Dec. 4 (no class on Thanksgiving weekend) 7-9 a.m. in the Merced College gym. The instructor is Ryan Ballinger. There’s a $50 fee, plus a $20 lab fee due at the first class.
