Jerry Brown to appear at Democratic campaign rally Saturday in Merced

Marc Medefind, chair of the Merced County Democratic Central Committee, said Democratic gubernatorial candidate Edmund G. “Jerry” Brown, Jr. will visit Merced on Saturday.

Brown will be joined by local Democrats to kick off the “I Will Vote” campaign rally at the Merced County Democratic Central Committee Headquarters at 16th and N Streets. Brown is scheduled to visit from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

“We are thrilled that Jerry has opened up a nine-point lead in the most recent poll,” said Marc Medefind, Merced County Democratic Central Committee chair, “We are also gratified that he wants to spend time in Merced just three days before the election.”

Medefind said in a news release that the committee registered 1,168 new voters at UC Merced in October.

Brown will be joined by Congressman Dennis Cardoza, Assembly member Cathleen Galgiani, Assembly member and local State Senatorial candidate Anna Caballero, and State Senator and President Pro Tem of the State Senate Darryl Steinberg.
