What is recyclable? Paper, plastic bottles and jugs--and more

Paper, including cardboard, is recyclable. As are plastic bottles and jugs. Empty beverage and food cans and clean aluminum foil go in the bin. And so do glass bottles and jars.

Other examples include milk jugs, soda and water bottles — all recyclable.

Batteries can be dropped off at the Highway 59 landfill (6040 N. Highway 59) or Billy Wright Landfill (17173 S. Billy Wright Road, Los Banos).Waste — or materials that aren’t recyclable — are plastics that are not in the form of a bottle or jug. Napkins, paper towels, clothing and shoes and paper products contaminated with foods or oils are also considered waste.
