Active 220-30 Club and MID to host hometown Christmas parade Dec. 4

The Active 20-30 Club of Merced, No. 53 and Merced Irrigation District said they will host the 16th Annual Hometown Christmas parade on Dec. 4.

This year's theme is “Christmas Wish List." The event is sponsored by MID, Scholle Packaging and the city of Merced. The event will take place at 3 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Merced.

This is the seventh year that the 24-foot MERCO Community Christmas tree will be on display in Bob Hart Square. The tree is a gift to the town from MERCO.

There will be prizes, cash awards for the best decorated floats and many surprises for revelers. Immediately after the parade, Bob Hart Square will feature the lighting of the MERCO Community Christmas tree. There will be complimentary hot chocolate and cookies provided by the Breakfast Lions Club and special performances along withChristmas melodies.
