National park fees waived on Veterans Day

For Veterans Day, Yosemite National Park and all other national parks will offer free admission Thursday for all visitors in honor of current and retired members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.

Free admission is being observed by all public lands managed by the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture.

The fee-free day has been observed since 2006.

The Bureau of Reclamation will also waive day-use fees at New Melones Lake.

Veterans Day and National Public Lands Day in September are the only two days when entrance fees are waived nationwide. The waiver also applies to public recreation lands under the management of the Department of the Interior.

Boat launching, camping and all other fees, still apply.
