Fees for New Melones Lake waived on Veterans Day

The Bureau of Reclamation’s Central California Area Office will waive day use fees at New Melones Lake for all visitors, to honor veterans, members of the armed forces and their families. It’s a gesture of appreciation for the men and women of the U.S. military who have given so much, the agency said in a news release.

Veteran’s Day and National Public Lands Day in September are the only two days when entrance fees are waived nationwide. The waiver of entrance fees and/or standard amenity fees on Veterans Day applies annually to public recreation lands under the management of the Department of the Interior, including the Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Reclamation. The U.S. Forest Service, under the Department of Agriculture, also participates.

Expanded amenity fees, including boat launching, camping and all other fees, still apply.

Please visit New Melones Lake for a day of outdoor recreation this Veterans Day.
