An update on the Merced Theatre, UC Merced alums venturing into green tech and ways to improve your diet are discussed this week on “Community Conversations,” a public service program on KYOS.
The hour-long show focuses on community, education and government news affecting residents throughout Merced County. It airs on KYOS, 1480 AM, at 7 p.m. Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday.
The weekend lineup includes: Uday Bali from the Bali Learning Center; RuthAnne Harbison, from the on GIS Day, Geography and You; Dan Ainslie, from the Merced Redevelopment Agency on the new financing for the Merced Theatre project; UC Merced alum Kevin Rico on a company he started with two fellow graduates that uses the sun to heat or cool industrial applications; Kim McMillon on Obras Alive and other arts events in Merced and Lilly Agundis, a nutrition program representative with U.C. Ag Extension, speaking about her work helping everyone improve their diets.
The program is hosted by Nathan Quevedo, the public information officer for the Merced County Office of Education. The program engineer is Rick McMillion of KYOS. The show is produced by MCOE, Roger Wood, Mike Conway from the city of Merced Public Information Office, and Scott Hernandez-Jason of the University of California, Merced, in association with the county of Merced and Merced College.
