One man was shot at least once Sunday evening in the 1800 block of Liberty Court in Merced, according to the Merced Police Department.
Officers were sent to the scene after receiving a call about several shots being fired. The victim, a man in his late 30s, was shot at least once in the upper left arm. The wound was not life-threatening, but serious enough that he was flown to a Modesto hospital for treatment.

The victim said nothing was said between him and the two suspects. The suspects ran from the scene, and officers were unable to find either of them.
It is unknown if the incident is gang related. Merced police detectives are continuing the investigation into the case, and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the department’s Tipster Line at (209) 385-4725 or Sgt. Scott Skinner at (209) 385-4702.
