No one was hurt after two Riggs ambulances collided Saturday around 7:45 p.m. near West 15th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Merced police reported.
One of the ambulances was traveling eastbound on West 15th Street in a non-emergency mode. Witnesses said the ambulance had the green light and had entered the intersection. Meanwhile, another ambulance responding in an emergency mode was traveling northbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Way approaching the same intersection. The northbound ambulance couldn't avoid hitting the other ambulance, according to police.
One of the vehicles tipped over and there were no patients in either ambulance.
