Argument among members of Atwater gang results in shooting

One man was injured Saturday after being shot by a fellow gang member in the 2900 block of Determine Drive, Atwater police reported.

The victim, who's in his 20s, is expected to survive, according to Atwater Police Chief Richard Hawthorne. The suspect remains at large.

The incident was reported around 4 a.m. after the victim and shooter, a Hispanic male in his 20s, had been involved in an argument inside an apartment. After being shot in the arm and abdomen, the victim fled to the intersection of Determine Drive and Bellevue Road, where he was found by police.

Hawthorne said detectives were following up on leads Monday.

No additional details are available about the shooter.
