Buhach Colony FFA tree judging team takes state title

The Buhach Colony High School FFA tree judging team captured the state title at the state finals competition April 16 at California State University, Fresno.

All of the team members placed in the top five individuals overall in the contest. Megen Morales was first high individual, Kaitlyn Ryan was second high individual, Gretchen Montague was fourth high individual, and Garrett Morales was fifth high individual. The team finished the year undefeated.

The grapevine judging team placed second overall at the competition. Abigail Montague was second high individual in the contest.

The dairy judging team placed second high team overall, and will defend their state title in a few weeks at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Cathleen Cipriano placed fourth overall in the contest.

The farm power team ended up fourth in the contest. Buhach’s other teams that participated included the small engines team, the BIG team and the livestock judging team.
