Sober Grad Night and water safety are some of the topics this week on “Community Conversations,” a public service program on KYOS. The hour-long show focuses on community, education and government news affecting residents throughout Merced County. It airs on KYOS, 1480 AM, at 7 p.m. Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday.
This weekend’s lineup includes: Annette Heikkila talks about the joint Atwater-Buhach Colony Sober Grad event and their search for sponsors and volunteers; Denard Davis talks about the Concerned Men Can Cook fundraiser on May 15; Mark Hendrickson from the Merced County Economic Development on improving the business climate in the region; Mike Jensen from the Merced Irrigation District talks about Water Safety Month; Lon Baugh of Atwater talks about Living History; Tom Musser talks about the upcoming Merced County Fair; and Kelly Thomas talks about the need for volunteers to house players for the Atwater Aviators baseball team.
The host is Atwater’s Roger Wood and Mike Conway, the city of Merced Public Information Officer, and Rick McMillion from KYOS is the engineer. The show is produced by Nathan Quevedo, the public information officer for the Merced County Office of Education MCOE, the City of Merced Public information Office, Roger Wood, and Scott Hernandez-Jason of the UC Merced, in association with the county of Merced and Merced College.
