The Dos Palos — Oro Unified School District said it will hold a public hearing about free, fresh drinking water for students in schools during meal times.
The hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m., May 19, in the Marks Elementary Cafeteria, 1717 Valeria, Dos Palos, CA 93620.
Public input and testimony are welcome.
In a news release, the school district said state law last year established a provision which raequires school districts to provide access to free, fresh drinking water during meal times in school food service areas by July 1.
That is, unless the governing board of a school district adopts a resolution stating it’s unable to comply with the requirement because of fiscal constraints or health and safety concerns.
