The Merced County Action Agency said May is National Bike Month, which fits right in with its Wheel Solutions program that began two years ago at the D Street Shelter.
The purpose was to provide parts, tools and expertise in repairing broken bikes for those who already had bikes and, when available, to provide a bike to those in need. Since it started, donors have given bikes that ranged from being worth the parts only to bikes that could be given to someone who needed one.
If you have a bike you no longer need and would like to donate it, please call Community Action Agency at (209) 723-4565 ext. 1140.
