Love INC of Greater Merced said it appointed Lynne Thompson as its new executive director.PRESS RELEASE
Thompson has served in ministry for many years, the group said in a news release. She has worked as a freelance writer for the past 16 years, and published more than 300 articles in several national magazines and websites, covering everything from angry children to stem cell research.
She is author of "The Official Soccer Mom Devotional" (Regal Publishing). She can be heard throughout the U.S. and Canada on "Focus on the Family’s"weekend radio broadcast as “The Soccer Mom,” offering inspirational words to encourage families. She has appeared on TV and radio, and her work is also featured in several story collections including the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. She began with Homelife magazine where she launched the Healthy Choice column. Her work has appeared in magazines such as Christianity Today, Discipleship Journal, World, and Focus on the Family publications. Thompson speaks to churches, women’s groups, and conducts writing workshops. She enjoys meeting and encouraging people.
For Leadership Magazine, she authored an article on “The New Needy” on how the church can help people in need in today’s uncertain economy. “
Thompson has also served as a teacher for children in first grade to high school, including as a journalism instructor. She and her husband and two children have been long-time supporters of Love INC.
She is active in Crossroads Church in Turlock.
