Body recovered from same canal submerged car was found last week

A body was recovered Monday from the same canal where a Turlock woman's car was found last week.

The car was registered to Robin Boyd, 39, of Turlock

The car was found in a canal Thursday near Highway 99 and Bradbury Road, according to the Merced County Sheriff's Department.

The sheriff's dive team discovered the 2004 Volvo submerged with the windows down, but no one was inside the car.

Monday afternoon between 2:30 and 3 p.m., a body was pulled out of a canal at Lander Avenue and Oslo Road in Hilmar, according to Sheriff's Department spokesman Tom MacKenzie.

Positive identification hasn't been made, but it's the same canal in which Boyd's car was found.

After the car was found last week, deputies went to Boyd's home and found she had been driving the car earlier Thursday, with her two children as passengers, and was involved in a minor traffic collision.

Boyd drove away from the scene, and her children walked home. Boyd may have been under the influence of alcohol, according to the Sheriff's Department.
