Merced fair looking for cutest cowboy and cowgirl

Get in the spirit of the “Saddle Up for Fun” 2011 Merced County Fair and bring the children out to compete in the Cutest Cowboy/Cowgirl contest. The fair runs from June 15-19 at the Merced County Fairgrounds, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

The event starts at 6 p.m. on kids’ day, Thursday, June 16 on the Health Plan of San Joaquin Community stage. On kids’ day, all children 12 years and under get in free on that day. The contest is open to children 5 and under.

No entry forms are required, parents only need to bring their children to the fairgrounds.

Entrants will be divided into two age groups - infants up to 2 years of age and children aged 3 to 5 years.

The contest categories include prettiest cowgirl, cutest cowboy, best meltdown, best personality, best homemade costume, most realistic and best overall. Each contest participant will receive a ribbon and a coupon for a frozen drink.
