Merced County officials will attend a second round of meetings of local city councils and municipal advisory councils during public comment on supervisorial redistricting options. The first meeting is scheduled in Planada on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Federal law requires the county to review and adjust district boundaries every 10 years following the census. Merced County grew by 21.5 percent from 2000 to 2010, but population growth was not uniform throughout the county, resulting in some supervisorial districts with more people than others.
Dates and times of future meetings will be announced in coming days.
