No injuries reported in Gustine house fire

GUSTINE — No injuries were reported Wednesday in a structure fire on Fairview Avenue.

As CalFire firefighters arrived at 1:20 p.m., smoke and flames had fully engulfed the home's kitchen area. Due to the quick response, damage to the 1,800 square-foot structure was contained to the kitchen and adjacent attic area.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation and the sole occupant of the home was displaced. Neighboring structures weren't damaged.

Damage to the home is estimated at $45,000, according to CalFire.

Around 13 firefighters, one chief officer, four fire engines and one rescue apparatus responded to the scene.
