35-year-old man injured in Q Street shooting

Merced police are seeking two suspects involved in the shooting of a 35-year-old man Thursday night in the 2400 block of Q Street.

Police responded to the area shortly before midnight to investigate several gunshots. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim, who'd been shot in the back, according to Lt. Bimley West.

West said the victim was still conscious and able to speak with officers, saying he'd been inside his garage when two unknown men entered and shot him.

The victim was flown to a Modesto hospital and is in critical but stable condition.

The motive for the crime is unknown. Police are seeking a 5-foot-9-inch male, weighing about 190 pounds and a 6-foot-tall male, weighing about 175 pounds. The suspects' race is unknown.
