A man in his late 50s was stabbed to death during an argument in Gustine in the 700 block of South Avenue, police reported.
Details are preliminary and the name of the victim hasn't been released. One man has been taken into custody.
Police responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m. after an alleged argument escalated between two black males, said police Chief Doug Dunford.
The suspect is in his mid-40s and the victim is in his late 50s, Dunford said, adding that one of the men had been drinking.
The suspect was arrested and taken to police department headquarters, he said. "We have all of the witnesses and the suspect and weapon in custody," Dunford said.
