Burglar strikes Valley Sports Academy

Valley Sports Academy is down one laptop after a burglar smashed a window and fled Monday night.

Around 11 p.m. a man broke a window, setting off the academy’s alarm, police said. He quickly grabbed a Dell laptop and fled.

“It’s what you would call a smash-and-grab,” Lt. Matt Williams said. “They usually grab any item they can get away with. They don’t spend a lot of time goofing off.”

A black male wearing a white T-shirt and jeans was seen fleeing from the academy, police said. Witnesses said they saw the man take off down an alley behind a Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Valley Sports Academy is a business which offers baseball lessons as well as strength training and conditioning. The academy is located at 100 West Main Street.
