WASHINGTON, D.C. - Rep. Jeff Denham, chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management, today released the following statement in response to Gov. Brown’s decision to close state garages, saving taxpayers about $2 million annually.
“We must ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely. I worked on this issue during my time in the State Senate and have continued as Chairman of the Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management Subcommittee in Congress. I am happy to see that Governor Brown is taking this issue seriously. As funds become increasingly scarce, it is essential to ensure that taxpayers are not footing a bill created by a bureaucracy.”
