No injuries reported in Delhi shooting

No one was hurt Thursday night in a Delhi shooting at a residence in the 16000 block of Schendel Avenue, Merced County Sheriff's Department reported.

The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. When deputies arrived they learned a lone gunman had fired several rounds from an unknown caliber firearm at the house, striking the front window and front door, according to Deputy Tom MacKenzie, sheriff’s spokesman.

Witnesses reported hearing several shots. The only description of the suspect was a young Hispanic male wearing dark clothing and a bandana over his face. Although no one was injured, there were several occupants inside the residence, including children.

Prior gang activity has been reported at the residence, and deputies believe the shooting is gang related.
