The Merced County Arts Council said it will feature three new exhibits, “A Californian State of Mind” by Kate Jackson; “Paper Cuts” by Claudia Silva-Doo and “Take Your Best Shot” by the Merced Camera Club
Kate Jackson will show some of her California watercolor paintings with special activity for public to engage in throughout her “A Californian State of Mind” exhibit. In the Skylight Gallery, Claudia Silva-Doo’s Chinese-themed mixed media collages and gouaches challenge traditional Chinese art. Finally, in the White Box Gallery, there will be a display of the show “Take Your Best Shot,” a diverse collection of photographs taken by Merced’s Camera Club.
The reception will be held Thursday, July 7, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Merced Multicultural Arts Center. The exhibit is June 29 through Sept. 16. Galleries now open Wednesday – Thursday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Friday – Saturday 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. and are free to the public.
Guests of the Multicultural Arts Center are invited to have their own say in “Crossing the Line.” This art wall gives viewers a chance to contribute to a tangible picture of the intricate web of people that live, work, and play here and the beauty and value that diversity brings to our community.
