The Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce said David Melin, owner of ServiceMaster Restoration and Cleaning in Merced, was sworn in by Senator Anthony Cannella as the chamber’s board president at the Chamber’s 75th Anniversary Celebration and Installation Dinner.
Melin takes over from Scott Crawford, who has served as the chamber’s president since July 2010.
Also sworn in were president-elect Jennifer West, and board members Brian Terrell (American Recycling), Elaine Davis (Holiday Inn Express & Suites Merced), Dan Caris (Mr. Ink Pro), Shawn Dwyer (Leap/Carpenter/Kemp Insurance), Bernadette Mellow (United Way of Merced County), and David Dunham (Mercy Medical Center Merced).
The chamber also unveiled its new logo at the dinner. The new logo is part of the chamber’s rebranding campaign and revitalized marketing effort. The new logo, which features the chamber’s new tagline “Your Partner In Business,” is meant to tie into the community not only by featuring one of Merced County’s most iconic buildings, but also by using the blue and gold colors often associated with the city of Merced, Merced College and UC Merced.
The chamber’s board chose the logo from a pool of 16 submitted logos, which was part of a community-based contest. The winning logo was designed by Dusty Dahlgren of Los Banos, a graphic designer for Merced-based Image Masters/On Target Marketing.
The next phase of the chamber’s new marketing plan includes a brand new website, which will be launched in late July, and a new quarterly business-lifestyle magazine.
