La Grange Odd Fellows to hold catfish dinner Saturday, Aug. 6

The La Grange Odd Fellows said they will hold their fourth annual catfish dinner Saturday, Aug.6, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the IOOF Hall on Main Street.

The event is sponsored by the La Grange Odd Fellows of LaFayette Historical Lodge No. 65.

Besides deep fried catfish fillets, the menu also includes cornbread, cole slaw salad, corn on the cob and coffee, iced tea or lemonade with ice cream cups for dessert, for $10, $5 for kids 12 and under. Take-out dinners are also available.

There will be a raffle drawing for a new fishing pole or a barbecue grill and other prizes. Tickets are a $1 donation or 6 for $5. Dinner tickets are available at the door or ahead of time at the La Grange Mercantile, (209) 853-2027. Call George about raffle tickets, (209) 853-2508.

The Odd Fellows will also hold their monthly breakfast the second Sunday of the month, on Aug. 14 from 7 to 11 a.m. The menu is biscuits and gravy, sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes O'Brien and French toast, for $6, with complimentary coffee and orange juice.

The Rebekahs of La Grange Lodge No. 323 will hold their breakfast the third Sunday, Aug. 21, same hours, featuring ham and cheese omelet and pancakes with biscuits and gravy as well, all for $5.
