Final public hearing scheduled for redistricting of Merced County election maps

The final public hearing on Merced County's proposed revision of electoral maps is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m. in the board room on the third floor of the county administration building, 2222 M Street.

To comply with state law, Merced's supervisorial district boundaries have to be redrawn every 10 years after the federal census to ensure nearly equal population.

The ordinance may be reviewed at http://www.co.merced.ca.us/redistricting or in person at the main county building. For information, call Amber Phillips at (209) 385-7500.
