The 21St annual Bill Kirby Western BBQ/Auction will be held Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Rotary Cove, Lake Yosemite.
The event is the Merced County Historical Society’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with an open bar and several hors d’oeuvres, all included in the ticket price. Dinner will be served at about 6:45.
The menu will be barbecued beef and pork, Kirby’s Famous Chuck wagon beans, salad, tomatoes, fresh bread, dessert and an open bar.
One new feature: a dessert booth with special homemade desserts being sold until they are gone. Buyers can pick up the dessert after the event to take home or have it delivered to their table. The silent auction of many various items will begin at 5 p.m. and a short live auction will start immediately after dinner.
Tickets are $40 ($20 of which is tax-deductible). For more information or to buy tickets, call (209) 382-0222 or email Jim and Carlene Cunningham at firstname.lastname@example.org.
