Yosemite Area Regional Transit System (YARTS) surpassed a record 12,000 passengers in July 2011, more than any other month in the 11 year history of the service.
YARTS provides year round, regularly scheduled public transit service into Yosemite National Park and the gateway communities.
The bus system has also announced two new additional round-trip runs between Mariposa and Yosemite.
Runs 2a and 3a in the morning and runs 8a and 11a in the afternoon will now be extended to Mariposa, originating there in the morning and traveling there in the afternoon/evening. With the extension of the two round-trip runs daily, the schedule was also adjusted to spread the service available.
Morning runs leave Mariposa at 7 a.m., 7:57 a.m., 9 a.m., 10:02 a.m. and 11:47 a.m. The buses will leave Yosemite Lodge every half hour in the afternoon between 3:30 and 6 p.m.
