A Turlock woman was killed Sunday night when her Ford Focus struck a concrete rail and wooden fence on American Avenue west of Columbus. Avenue.
CHP said in a news release that DUI was suspected in the crash. The 25-year-old, whose name is being withheld until next-of-kin are notified, wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
She was driving east on American when she traveled off the south roadway edge, then back onto the roadway, according to the CHP. Then she traveled off the north edge of the roadway and struck the rail and fence.
The 2003 vehicle overturned, and the driver was ejected from it. The car came to rest on its wheels in a corn field, facing west.
