The following events are planned in commemoration of 9/11:
Winton Ceremony: 7:55 a.m., Winfield Elementary School, 6981 Chestnut Lane, Winton. Winfield School will hold a 9/11 ceremony with the posting of the colors by VFW Post 7792, followed by class presentations, poetry and songs. The ceremony is expected to last about 20 minutes.
United We Stand: 9/11 We Remember: Cadets from the Fresno City College Police and Fire academies will lead the memorial wreath march, followed by a tree planting and a few words from retired New York firefighter Andrew Isolano; noon, Fresno City College, march starts at main fountain. 5 Alarm Bash: 6 p.m., hosted by Fresno Fire Chief's Foundation to honor NYFD firefighter Andy Isolano, Fresno Fire Department Headquarters, 911 H St., $55. Details: (559) 621-4002.

Atwater: 2-3 p.m., Atwater community Center, 760 E. Bellevue Road. Local high schools and junior high bands will play and the parade will start at 2 p.m. from Winton Way down Bellevue Road to the Atwater Community Center. VFW Post 9946 and honor/color guards will raise flags immediately after the parade. Atwater Mayor Joan Faul will open the ceremony at 3 p.m. with State Sen. Anthony Cannella scheduled to speak. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony and static displays will be on-site.
State Capitol: Beginning at 5:30 a.m., remembrance event and reading of the names of all who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

California Memorial: Tenth annual 9/11 observance at Schneider Electric (formerly Pelco), Pontiac Way between Ashlan and Dakota avenues, Clovis. Ceremony includes placement of wreaths, 21-gun salute, flyover and more. The California Memorial Museum will be open from 8 a.m. to noon.

The Sounds of Freedom Military Concert Band: "Remembering 9/11" concert will feature Fresno Fire Department Color Guard, organist Richard Cencibaugh and vocalist Burke Lizama; 2 p.m., Warnors Center for the Performing Arts, 1400 Fulton St., Fresno. $10, available online at www.warnors.org or at Warnors Center ticket office, proceeds will benefit returning Iraq and Afghanistan veterans.
Mariposa 9/11 Memorial: Ceremony will pay tribute to those who lost their lives on 9/11, dedicate the site of the regional 9/11 Memorial to be built in the county-owned park over the coming year and unveil four World Trade Center I-beams donated to the citizens of Mariposa County by the New York-New Jersey Port Authority for the memorial; 1 p.m., Mariposa Art Park, Fourth Street and Highway 140.
