The Mother Lode Sky Riders gliding club at Lake McClure said it will hold gliding competition Oct. 15-16 at the lake.
A $30 donation will allow entry to the competition, food and drinks and provide MLSR with important fundraising.
On Saturday at 9 a.m. will be speed gliding competition; at 11 a.m. a pilot meeting and around noon, the competition and fun flying begins. From 4 to 7 p.m., as pilots land, there will be barbecue and beverages.
On Sunday at 9 a.m. speed gliding will be held, followed at 11 a.m. by an awards ceremony hosted by Jay Bass. From 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be competition and fun flying events.
Access to the landing zone and launch is free, but If you enter the campsites, please pay the day use fee.
The nearest gas station on the way to Lake McClure is the Don Pedro Market, 3317 State Highway 132, La Grange, CA 95329. T-shirts will be available in the landing zone for $20.
