The Merced Multi-Agency Gang Task Force said its agents arrested five Sureno criminal street gang members in the Delhi area Wednesday.
The agents were conducting a probation compliance check at a residence in the 16000 Block of Oak Street in Delhi. Once on the scene, the agents contacted nine validated Sureno criminal street gang members, who agents believed were holding a gang meeting.
Agents then arrested five suspects and cited and released one.
Those arrested include Alex Garcia, 25, Delhi, for alleged possession of cocaine; Aldo Lopez, 22, Delhi, allegedly for a parole violation (he was on parole for assault with a deadly weapon); Diego Villaasenor, 23, Delhi, allegedly for a parole violation (on parole for accessory to a felony and felony vandalism); a 17-year old male for possesion of a .25 caliber handgun; and a 16-year-old male for outstanding warrants and providing false information to a peace officer.
Juan Lizarraga, 20, Delhi, was cited and released for alleged marijuana possession and failure to comply with a court order.
The task force said in a news release that all those individuals are validated Sureno criminal street gang members.
