Rescue Mission needs ham, other donations for Christmas dinner Dec. 23

The Merced County Rescue Mission plans to feed more than 1,000 people at a Christmas dinner Dec. 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the American Legion Hall.

Mission officials said they need 100 10-pound hams, more than 600 unwrapped toys to be given to children, clothing to be given away and cash donations.

All donations can be dropped off at the Rescue Mission located at 1921 Canal St. in Merced. For more information, call the Mission at (209) 722-9269.

The mission fed about 3,000 people at its Thanksgiving dinner event at the Legion hall.
