Photos of Check N' Go robbers released

Atwater police released photos Thursday of two men involved in a robbery reported at a Check N’ Go earlier this month.

The incident was reported at 12:50 p.m. Dec. 1 at the 1139 Bellevue Rd. business.

The photos, taken from a video surveillance camera, show two of the three robbers. One of the men was wearing a ski mask, while the other was wearing a black or dark colored hooded sweatshirt. The face of the man wearing a sweatshirt was clearly visible as he exited the business. He appears to be in his late teens or early 20s, according to Detective Armando Echevarria.

During the robbery, one of the men remained in the doorway, preventing customers from leaving or entering the business, while another subject entered and brandished a handgun at the employees.

Meanwhile, the third robber removed cash and checks from the business.

All three robbers fled on foot into a residential area, and are believed to have driven away in a small red or burgundy car.

Two patrons and two store employees were inside the business during the robbery. No one was hurt.
