No injuries reported in North Merced shooting

No one was hurt in a shooting Saturday night at a residence in the 800 block of Redlands Court, off San Jose Avenue and University Drive, Merced police reported. No suspects have been arrested in the case.

Officers responded to the scene shortly after 11 p.m. and located a bullet hole in the front porch area of the residence, according to Lt. Bimley West.

Witnesses reported hearing two gunshots and seeing four male juveniles, ranging in age from 14 to 17 years-old, running from the area in a westbound direction. Police checked the area, but were unable to locate the teens.

A party was happening at another residence in the same court, West said, although it's unknown whether the shooting was connected to that party.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Sgt. Scott Skinner at (209) 385-4702 or the department's automated tipline at (209) 385-4725. Witnesses can also text message tips to TIP411 (847411) using the key word "comvip."
