MCOE program provides day of care Dec. 17 for those who care for children

For the third straight year, the Merced County Office of Education A.C.C.E.S.S. Child Care Support Services provided on Dec. 17 a morning of care for those who care for children.

The agency organized a day of pampering for individuals who provide child care in Merced County. There were women from Merced, Atwater, Gustine, Planada, Le Grand, Los Banos and Winton being catered to with beauty services provided by the local Sierra College of Beauty, Paradise Salon and Retro Lux Salon. More than 40 women received a manicure, facial, new haircut and the company of other child care providers.

Lucy Becerra and Ofelia Ramirez organized the event to express appreciation to the women take care of children throughout Merced County. Tony Fuentes, an instructor at the Sierra College of Beauty in Merced, said, "This is a wonderful gesture for the ladies that are here and we are glad that we can be of service. It is a way to show some care for those who are caring for our local children."
