National Alliance on Mental Illness to offer family education classes in January

The local chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness said it will offer Family-to-Family Education weekly classes in Merced beginning 5:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at 480 E. 13th St.

The NAMI program is a 12-week course for family members of individuals with severe brain disorders. Instruction and course materials are free to class participants. The course discusses the clinical treatment of the illnesses and teaches the knowledge and skills family members need to cope more effectively.
