LOS BANOS -- A second suspect in a drive-by shooting Wednesday night has been identified by the Los Banos Police Department.

Gustavo Rodriguez, 19, of Los Banos, is considered to be armed and potentially dangerous, according to the police department's news release.

Dos Palos resident Edgar Robles, 19, is in custody after the drive-by shooting in the 800 block of Illinois Avenue. Los Banos police said no one was hurt.

A dark-colored Chrysler sedan was spotted in front of an apartment after 8:30 p.m., and someone inside the car fired several rounds at the apartment, police said.

The apartment was occupied but no one was hit, according to Cmdr. Ray Reyna.

The car and its occupant left the scene, but officer Nathan Bowling spotted the vehicle in the 700 block of Iowa Avenue and stopped it.

A man was seen running away, and police suspect it was Rodriguez.

Police arrested the driver, Robles. He is being held in lieu of $300,000 at the Merced County Jail on suspicion of assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm into an inhabited dwelling and participation in a criminal street gang.

Anyone with information about the case or Rodriguez's whereabouts should call Los Banos police Detective Justin Melden at (209) 827-7070 ext. 114. Witnesses can leave tips at the city's website, www.losbanos.org. Tips are confidential and callers can remain anonymous.
